Since becoming a City Councillor in 2010, it has been a privilege to meet the people of Steinbach and learn about what they want for our city. I believe I have followed through with my commitment to be a voice for low taxes & debt, while at the same time supporting affordable ways to make Steinbach a better place to live.

The biggest opportunity and challenge Steinbach is facing today is managing its rapid growth, both in terms of the costs associated with growth and the needs of diversifying demographics. This growth increases pressure on our infrastructure, recreation, and policing requirements - all important factors in making Steinbach an enjoyable place to call home.

In addition, Steinbach continues to grow as a regional hub, drawing thousands each day. This is great for business, but it also gives the perception that Steinbach's tax base is a lot larger than it actually is. It is essential to keep in mind that we are a community of 16,000 people when making spending decisions.

I will continue to make infrastructure a priority. I will support moving ahead with recreational facilities provided they are done in a responsible way. I will continue to be a voice of common sense when trying to balance the wants versus the needs of our community.
